Attendance, Late Cancellation and No-Show Policy

Why this matters

Friendship needs repetition. Missing meetups does not just cost you the evening, it weakens the group for everyone else. This policy is about reliability, not about judging anyone as a person.

What we ask

• Respond to each meetup with a yes or a no, so the group can plan.
• Aim to attend all four meetups in your Circle, or the meetup you booked with a Try Again ticket.
• If you cannot make it, change your response as soon as you know, and at least 24 hours before the meetup starts.
• If something happens on the day, tell us or your group rather than going quiet.

Definitions

• Attended: you were there for the meetup.
• Excused absence: you cancelled more than 24 hours before the meetup. This carries no consequence.
• Late cancellation: you cancelled inside the 24 hour window. Life happens, and one late cancellation is not a problem.
• No-show: you had said yes and did not attend, without telling anyone.

What happens after a missed meetup

• One late cancellation or one no-show: recorded, nothing more.
• A second no-show in the same Circle: we get in touch to check whether the Circle is still right for you.
• Repeated no-shows across Circles: you may not be offered a place in a future Circle, or you may be removed from a current one so the seat can go to someone who will use it.
• Not responding to meetups at all is treated the same way as not attending, because the group cannot plan around silence.
• Try Again meetups: attendance, late cancellation and no-shows are recorded under the same private reliability model. A missed Try Again meetup is not treated as a Circle absence, and there is no extra penalty attached to it. A pattern of no-shows across any Again meetup can still affect whether you are offered a future place.

Reliability is private

Attendance records are held privately for operating the service. They are never shown to other members, never turned into a public score or star rating, and never used in compatibility matching. Only the Again team and safety reviewers can see them.

Cost of a meetup

Membership covers matching and running your Circle, and a Try Again ticket covers the organisation of that one meetup. Food and drink at a venue are separate and paid by you on the day. Not attending does not create a charge from Again, though a venue may have its own terms for a booking.
