Account Suspension and Termination

Last updated: 31 August 2026. Removing someone is a last resort, but it is sometimes the only way to keep Circles worth joining.

The three levels

  • Restriction: temporary. Your account stays open but you cannot join, be matched into, or take part in a Circle while we review something.
  • Suspension: longer, usually while a serious matter is investigated or following a significant breach.
  • Termination: your membership ends and you cannot rejoin.

Why an account can be restricted or suspended

  • A credible safety report is under review.
  • Behaviour that breaks the Community Guidelines.
  • Repeated no-shows or conduct that consistently disrupts Circles.
  • Signs of impersonation, duplicate accounts or fraud.
  • A payment problem that is not resolved after we contact you.

Why an account can be terminated

  • Threats, violence, or conduct that endangers another member.
  • Sexual harassment or unwanted physical contact.
  • Hate speech or discriminatory abuse.
  • Stalking, or evading a block or an existing restriction.
  • Scams, fraud or exploitation of members.
  • Retaliation against someone who reported.
  • A pattern of breaches that continues after warnings.

How decisions are made

A person makes the decision, using the record of what happened, the severity, the risk to others and the account's history. Serious safety issues can lead to immediate restriction before the review is complete, because the alternative is leaving people exposed.

What we tell you

We tell you that your account has been restricted, suspended or closed, and in general terms why. We do not share the private details of a report or who made it, because that would put reporters at risk.

Effects

Leaving on your own terms

You can cancel or delete your account at any time without giving a reason. Use your account settings, or the contact form at again.social/contact.

Appeals

Any of these decisions can be appealed. See Reporting and Appeals.
